Summer School students will stay in twin-bedded rooms at the Xenia Helios Hotel, Peraia, Thessaloniki, which is located at the seaside. The hotel has access to the beach. The postal address is:

Fees

The total cost of participation in the International Summer School is €2,500. This covers all expenses: hotel accommodation, full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner), tuition, excursions and guided tours. As soon as a student is informed that he/she has been accepted, a deposit of €1,000 should be made in the student’s name to the Balkan Research and Studies Society’s account with the National Bank of Greece:

The remaining €1,500 is to be paid in the same way until 1 July 2012. Fees cannot be refunded. However, if a student is unable to attend the programme for serious reasons, he/she should notify the Secretary of the International Summer School prior to the commencement of classes and credit will be allowed for the following year.

Travel information

There are direct flights to Thessaloniki from many European cities (Berlin, London, Paris, Vienna, Amsterdam, Zurich, Munich, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, etc.) as well as good train and bus connections. There are banks and tourist information offices at Makedonia airport and at Thessaloniki central railway station.

Peraia, where the Xenia Helios Hotel is located, is a suburb of Thessaloniki and approx. 5 kilometers from Makedonia airport. Students who arrive by air can take a taxi from the airport to the hotel. It is advisable to purchase telephone cards immediately on arrival, at the airport or railway station, for personal calls.
